About this Episode

The April edition of Iwwer Gott an d’Welt focused on Nelly Moia, who passed away on February 23, 2025. She was highly regarded as a professor, feminist, animal rights advocate, and photographer. Professionally, she taught English, Italian, Art, and Ethics at Lycée Hubert Clement in Esch/Alzette.
From the 1950s onward, she regularly wrote articles on women’s and animal rights, which were mostly published in Tageblatt or Luxemburger Land. As an outspoken atheist, she never hesitated to take a stand against the Church. From the 1980s onwards, she held several photography exhibitions and authored a number of books.
Neither Bob nor Lex had Nelly Moia as a professor, yet they managed to interview another well-known Luxembourger who had that privilege. Danielle Igniti, who has been politically active and remains deeply engaged in the arts, shared numerous anecdotes during the interviews, emphasizing that Nelly Moia was an exceptionally remarkable person. As the conversation expanded, topics such as the Church, politics, and women’s and animal rights were also discussed.
