The Bolokos, formed in 2009 in Goyave, Guadeloupe, are pioneers as the island’s first and only punk rock band. Their unique sound blends punk rock with Caribbean musical styles, incorporating elements like Gwo Ka, Zouk, and Calypso.
The trio consists of Océ Cheapfret on bass and vocals, Edy Caramello on guitar, harmonica, and vocals, and Mister Fridge on drums.
Their debut album, “The Bolokos,” was released on March 30, 2019, followed by their second studio album, “Tropikal Noise,” on December 7, 2024. A European version got released on January 30th by Wolverine Records.
Notably, they were the first Caribbean band to participate in the Rebellion Festival in Blackpool, England.
Their music is characterized by high energy and a fusion of punk rock with traditional Guadeloupean rhythms, creating a distinctive and vibrant sound.
