About this Episode
Two topics and two things to mark on your calendars – playwright Nora Connolly joins us straight off the plane from Dublin to talk about her play about James Joyce and his life partner and wife Nora Barnacle, ‘Nora and Jim’, which is being performed at the Neudorf Cultural Centre on 11 and 12 January, thanks to New World Theatre Club! Joining her is Fergal from the Luxembourg chapter of the Irish music association Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann, as the play will be followed by live Irish music session by the award-winning Dooley sisters (Fleadh Winners 2024). See the NWTC website for tickets and more information.
Also in the studio were Elisa from InterNations Luxembourg Changemakers Group and Eric from the Ile aux Clowns, promoting the 18 January charity concert at the Eglise St Laurent in Lorentzweiler. The concert will feature renowned pianist siblings, Zala and Val Kravos, who have performed classical music at venues across Europe as well as at Carnegie Hall in NYC. They play four-hand pieces, as Mozart and his sister did! The concert is organised by InterNations Luxembourg Changemakers and benefits the Ile aux Clowns, which trains clowns and send them on visits to local hospitals to cheer patients, mainly children, and literally bring them a little comic relief and a welcome smile. Book tickets to the concert via the Ile aux Clowns website (preferably), or take your chances at the door!
